LawchestraQ & Queensland Medical Orchestra: Americana in Concert
Edmund Rice Performing Arts Centre
In a spectacular start to the year, LawchestraQ performed in a joint concert with the Queensland Medical Orchestra (QMO), an event with an audience of over 900 people. Musicians of the legal profession and medical profession combined to promote mental wellbeing, where proceeds of the concert was donated to the charity Letters of Hope.
Both orchestras performed individually, and then combined forces to form one large orchestra with all musicians. QMO’s conductor Dr Ryan Williams led the joint orchestra in performing Stephen Schwartz’s Highlights from Wicked, whilst the Lawchestra’s conductor, Greta Hunter led the joint orchestra and closed the concert with Mvt IV Finale from Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor ‘New World Symphony’.
